In February 2026 we hosted our inaugural BWM Gather & Yarn weekend event in Bendigo for 170 lovely people!
When putting together Gather & Yarn we wanted it to be like 'craft camp for grown ups'!
Held over the weekend of Saturday 28 February & Sunday 1 March, 2026, this Bendigo event was been designed to make yarn craft lovers smile.
It was a weekend of inspiration, learning and connections, surrounded by all those who understand the true joy of crafting.
Each delegate took part in 2 x 3 hour creative workshops, heard from two fantastic panels, had fun in an afternoon of shorter “Craft Sessions” or relaxed in our Slow Stitching Lounge, plus enjoyed a lunch and light breakfast together. Many also attended a special session of Craft Cinema night on the Saturday night.
The 2026 Workshops were largely hands-on and a chance to try or refine:
Knitting skills like Mosaic Colourwork, Sock Knitting, Fair Isle/Stranded Colourwork, Shadow Knitting, Lacework, "Reading" your Knitting and trying out Continental Knitting.
Crochet skills like trying Amigurumi, New crochet Joining Methods, Working on a garment pattern & tips for adjusting it, (Almost) Beginner Crochet to make a bag - including crochet pattern reading and crochet in the round - plus, exploring the stitches and techniques to raise your granny square game!
Plus a Botanical Yarn Dyeing workshop.
We conducted a survey after the event and got plenty of helpful feedback and lovely compliments.
