Supporting Our Community

At Bendigo Woollen Mills, we support our community in big and small ways, from fundraising for cancer research to providing prizes for local shows. We are proud to share some of the projects we have been involved in and recognise the people who help make them happen.

Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute

Throughout September 2026, we pledged $1 from every ball of yarn sold to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute. Together with our community of makers, we raised $31,389 to support the Institute’s important cancer research. Thank you to everyone who contributed through their yarn purchases.

Australian Sheep and Wool Show

We are proud to support the Australian Sheep and Wool Show, which celebrates Australian wool, sheep farming, and the skills of those who work with wool. Held here in Bendigo, the show brings together growers and makers to share their work and knowledge.

Agricultural shows and community events

We support a range of agricultural shows, school fairs and community events through prizes and contributions. From the Wangaratta Agricultural Show, Royal Geelong Show and Perth Royal Show to the Strathfieldsaye Primary School Fair, these are just some of the events we have been involved in.

We also support community groups, fibre events and fundraising initiatives, such as the CWA VIC State Conference, Kyabram CWA, NSW Knitters Guild Fibrefest and Knit for the Girls. These offer a snapshot of the different ways we contribute to our wider community.
