"A colour-worked beanie, with optional pom pom at the top. This pattern is knitted in the round on a circular needle (or DPNs) but it can be adapted to knit flat and seamed up. It features a star and snowflake colour-work design tHat/beanie reaches up towards the crown with hidden shaping in the pattern and a wide ribbed band with a turn up."
Sizes:
Finished size 45.5cm/18.25", to fit head circumerence 50-60cm/20-24" (average adult size) snugly.
Gauge:
22 stitches x 30 rows to 10cm. It is recommended tHat/beanie your swatch is knit in the round with part of the the colour-work chart as tension often will vary between plain knitting and colour-work sections.
Requirements:
- 1 x 200g ball each of 8 ply MC and CC. Sample shown in Bendigo Tweed 8 ply - Dusty Plum and Natural. The sample used less than 1/4 ball of each shade.
- 4mm/US6, or size needed to achieve gauge, of preferred needles for knitting small circumferences in the round (DPNs or circular needle).
