Helcaraxë is a thick, cosy cushion cover perfect for curling up with on the couch. Named for the land crossed by Fingolfin and his hosts in J.R.R Tolkien's The Silmarillion, the design features a large central cable diagonally crossing the middle of the pillow. The cover is worked on the diagonal in two pieces, which are then sewn together along three sides. The final side is joined together using three buttons.
Materials Required: 10ply Luxury, 2 x 200g balls (approx total 310m)
5.00mm/US 8 needles and cable needle to fit gauge
yarn needle and 3 buttons
Approximate width & length: 38.5cm x 38.5 cm (15x15 in), to fit a cushion insert 40x40cm.
Tension: 14 stitches and 22 rows = 10cm in pattern (blocked)
