Crochet an Audrey Cowl... or knit a Deirdre Cowl! Either way you’ll have a great cowl to dress up any winter outfit, as these items are so versatile .
The Audrey Cowl can be crocheted in 10, 12, or 16ply wool, using a neat V-stitch. The Deirdre Cowl can be knitted in 4, 8 or 10ply wool using a cosy moss stitch. The wide range of thickness provides plenty of variety to help you craft any cowl to match any weather.
AUDREY COWL (crocheted)
Measurements: 90 x 20cm, approximately
Requirements: BWM 10ply Luxury, 12ply Classic, or 16ply Elixir (less than 1x200g ball each)
Crochet hooks - 7mm or 9mm (for 12 & 16 ply)
Tension: not crucial, although using a larger or smaller hook size for chosen yarn will affect the amount of yarn required and finished size.
DEIRDRE COWL (knitted)
Measurements:
4ply 60 x 25cm
8ply 76 x 36cm
10ply 88 x 30cm
Requirements: BWM Luxury 4, 8, or 10ply (less than 1x200g ball each)
Needles - 3.75mm, 4mm, 5mm. Either straight or circulars are usable.
Tension: not crucial, although using a larger or smaller needle size for chosen yarn will affect the amount of yarn required and finished size.
