Nativity Playset PDF

This crochet pattern is for a sweet amigurumi Nativity set which includes Mother Mary and Joseph dolls, a Baby Jesus doll, and a manger (bed) for Jesus. The pattern includes instructional photos, and the overall design is quite simple, making this pattern ideal for a first amigurumi project (If you are a beginner crocheter, I recommend tHat/beanie you first be quite confident with making neat and even stitches before attempting amigurumi).

Safety Warning: This playset is not suitable for Baby and children aged 36 months and under, because it contains sewn-on small parts which could cause a choking hazard should the stitching come loose and the part fall off (i.e. Baby Jesus' face, Joseph's beard).

Australia and most other countries/regions have product safety standards for children's toys for each age group, so check the relevant requirements, and make adjustments accordingly.

MATERIALS REQUIRED 

BWM Cotton 8ply, small amounts in multiple colours (samples photographed used Parchment 816, Snow 801, Denim 871, Light Teal 891, Chestnut 876 and Pink Rose 805)

2.5mm, 3.5mm, & 4.5mm crochet hooks

yarn needle

stitch markers and pins (optional)

Measurements (cm approx):  Using 8ply yarn and hook sizes recommended, the adult dolls measure about 25.5cm long and 18cm around chest. Baby doll measures 8.5cm long and 14cm around chest.

TENSION is not crucial, though it is important to use a small enough hook to create a dense fabric with no gaps between stitches for stuffing to be visible.

Standard UK terminology is used throughout this pattern.
