Snug is our deliciously soft new yarn that brings together two loved natural fibres, creating a gentle blend of 50% baby alpaca and 50% fine (22 micron) merino.
The baby alpaca is especially fine and wonderfully soft against the skin. Its longer fibres create a delicate bloom across the yarn, while the merino adds gentle structure to the drape created by the baby alpaca. Together, they create a yarn with softness, flow and lasting structure.
Baby alpaca fleece does not contain the guard hairs found in adult alpaca fleece, giving it an exceptionally fine and luxurious feel, even compared with the natural softness of adult Alpaca. Whether made into an accessory or a garment, Snug carries its gentle character from the first stitch through to the finished piece.

Soft and easy to knit with no pilling so far!
The yarn has not got the bulk of other 8 ply BWM wools including your regular alpacca yarn, and using it with the size 4 needles as recommended on the paper around each ball, it was not suitable for the pattern I had intended to use and this is very disappointing. Snug is better suited to a pattern for 4 or 5 ply and size 3.75 needles are needed for the main part of the garment and size 3 needles should be used for the ribbing of the bands. Sadly, the snug has been more expensive than I would ordinary spend and yet I'm not able to have the pattern I had planned to use. After buying from BWM for many years, this is the first time I have not been happy with my purchase or the result of many hours spent making a garment 'just so as not to waste the wool'.

Snug is fabulous to knit, feels so soft. Looks really good. I’m on to my third cowl, using your Lyra slip stitch pattern. The green is a lovely colour, the red a bit dull

Just finished an adult jumper so I don’t yet know how Snug will wear over time. It is amazingly soft and easy to work with. Because it is lightweight it seems to go further than other 8 ply yarns. A short/ cropped style adult jumper only used 3.5 balls.
It's lovely and soft. Great for anything you intend to wear close to your skin. I made a balaclava for my husband to wear under his motorcycle helmet and he loves it!

Lovely soft yarn with a beautiful drape. I made a small triangle scarf to test the yarn against my skin. Will definitely make a sweater that needs a nice drape using this yarn .

This mix of alpaca and merino is sweetly soft and I just keep putting it against my face to feel the texture.
